RM of Harris’s story
The Rural Municipality of Harris No. 316 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910. It lies in southwest-central Saskatchewan, in Census Division No. 12, and covers a large area of farmland and open prairie.
Within its boundaries are the villages of Harris and Tessier, along with the localities of Brisbin and Crystal Beach. The RM's office is in Harris, where a council and an appointed administrator meet on the second Wednesday of every month.
Visitors today can learn about the area's past at the Harris Heritage Museum and the Leonard Farm Museum. Crystal Beach Regional Park and the Prairie National Wildlife Area are also found in the municipality. Highways 7, 655 and 768 and the Canadian National Railway run through the RM.
